These are sketches I painted for a story which I developed in my mind when I found Zenith ([link]) by the amazing David Larsen.

It's about Spike looking for an ancient artifact called "Touch of the Sun", "Zenith of the Sun" or simply "Zenith" which is supposed to have a great healing powers, but it was lost during the Griffin wars. With this item he wants to heal Twilight, who have fallen in some kind of coma. When he learns about the Zenith, he tells Celestia, but because she won't let him go on this quest for some reason and she orders him to stay in the Canterlot, he must leave through sewers and then he goes to the borders of Griffin kingdom, where he wants to find some clues. Only thing that gives him hope is Twilight's tiara, which is also supposed to unlock the Zenith. (He took it when he left and he would talk to it during his quest, hoping that Twilight could hear him.) After few events and escapes from the royal guard, which was send by Celestia, he arrives. But he's not prepared and he is defeated by the greate mountains. He would die if not a handful of griffins who took him to their village and took care of him. (Here is a griffin girl who found him: [link] ) When he recovers he returns to his quest and thanks to griffins, he knows where to go, but with every step he realises why Celestia wanted to stop him. She knows very well that there are things which are better to be forgotten. After some time and few events (And one sailing adventure! Yarrrgh!) he finally finds the Zenith . But he also finds a very old secret.
